Risk of needle contamination: The main risk with procedures such as these is the risk of catching a contagious disease through needles. Carmen Galindo always follows all the proper hygiene and handling procedures. All the used material is discarted. This includes needles, gloves, pigments, and the pigment cups. In her more than twenty years of experience, Carmen Galindo has never had an issue concerning her clients’ safety. The risk of contagion is most likely when the patient goes to a less reputable establishment or non-licensed esthetician and who have or have had blood transfusion processes.

Risk of abnormal scarring in people who have keloid skin. We recommend that the patient inform the esthetician of any history of keloid formation before deciding to go through with the procedure.

There is a risk of the pigment spreading beyond the expected contour. In Carmen Galindo’s experience, it is very odd for this to happen. But when it has, it has been something very mild and has been easily corrected by applying a skin color over the affected area.

The skin surrounding our eyes is very fragile, therefore it is very hard to prevent this from happening. There is, however, a way of correcting it, as was explained in the previous answer.

After about a month the skin will have recovered, at which point, correcting pigments can be applied to hide the spread pigment. Fortunately, this rarely happens on healthy, strong skin. It is more likely to happen on frail, dehydrated skin.

Not be guarantees that is of equal color to the skin, require of several sessions and in each session is must cancel the value additional stipulated.

It mostly depends on three things: The color that was chosen, the quality of your skin and on how well you follow the aftercare recommendations. Usually, procedures done with blue and black pigments, which are only used for eyeliners, have an average duration of ten years, without any need for a touch-up.

Procedures done in brownish tones (eyebrows) and red tones (lips) have a shorter duration, usually between two to five years, in very good shape. It is important to note that patients have different skin types, which highly determines the longevity of the make-up. This makes establishing a standard duration a very hard task.

In general, the wider the lines and the darker the color, the longer it lasts. At the same time, the thinner the line and the lighter the color, the less it will last. Nevertheless, it must be noted that sometimes it is more aesthetically pleasing to chose thinner lines and lighter colors even if it does last less (sometimes even a year or less). This is a decision that the client must state on the consent form before the procedure begins.

Yes. In most cases, having previous permanent make-up means the esthetician must do more work and usually, the client must come back for a few more sessions, except in the case of having a worn-out and faded makeup that is not noticeable.

Yes. The pigment is only applied on the epidermis, the top layer of the skin, and since it is so superficial, no keloid should form. Nevertheless, we recommend that you check-up with your physician during the first six months after the procedure. Refer to question “What are the main risks? – 2” about the risks of permanent make-up.

Carmen Galindo is dedicated to give you a very well done permanent make-up, well outlined, to your liking, and with no patches or unevenness. After the procedure is finished, you should come back to a monthly check-up, just as soon as the color has settled and the skin has gotten back to normal. After this point, there is usually no more work to be done, but should there be a need for any modification, the client will pay the minimum sum of 10% of the original price. This small fee is just to cover the pigment costs and other implements being used. It is strongly recommended that you come back for your one month revision. The 10% fee you pay a month after, increases by 10% with each passing month. If you come back five months later and wish to fix something, you will pay 50% of the original cost.

It must be noted, that this policy is only applicable to procedures done by Carmen Galindo and not it does not apply to customers who have had permanent make-up done by another establishment or esthetician.

For those wish to correct a badly done or worn out make-up, we follow the following procedure:

The client must first come to a consultation and quote. This is necessary to know what will follow.
Schedule an appointment.

The day of the appointment, the client agrees to pay 100% of the price for an entire new make-up. This new make-up will correct the shape, color and general aspect of the previous make-up.

After a month, the client returns for a second session. This time, the client will pay 50% of the original price.

Any future touch-up will cost 10% of the original price.

Note: It is normal for permanent make-up to slowly fade through the years.

If the pregnancy is not risky, there is absolutely no problem with getting permanent make-up eyebrows,eyeliners or lips, you should get your doctor’s authorization as this procedure requires special care.

A touch-up is a minor permanent make-up procedure on a small area, usually with the intention of correction something or adding minor changes. This is usually done on areas where the color has turned out lighter, which usually happens by either pulling out the scabs that form while the skin is healing or by not applying the recommended ointment on the skin. You must understand that a touch-up is not an overall makeover, and that it doesn’t matter if a few days or weeks have passed.

Touch-ups cannot be done after two months of the first procedure. This is because after that time, the pigment inside the skin will lighten and even if the touch-up is done with the same color, there will be a tone difference between the two.

As was already mentioned in question 5, the permanent make-up must turn out perfectly even, without patches or colorless parts. The success of the procedure depends on how well you follow the aftercare instructions at home.
Remember that a touch-up is NOT an overall makeover. Therefore, if you need a touch-up, you may pay 10% of the original cost ONLY during the first two months of the procedure. If you have already had permanent make-up and it was not done by Carmen Galindo, then you must adhere to the procedures set forth for corrections of damaged or badly done make-up. You must also note, that if you decide to have very thin lines on your make-up and a general natural look in light tones, and later decide to have something darker and more defined that will last longer, this will be considered a new procedure even if only a few months have passed.
This means you will pay the original cost of the procedure. Likewise, if you chose dark and thick eyebrows because they will last longer and later decide to change the shape and color to something lighter, this will also be considered a new procedure.

Carmen Galindo has never had a complication with diabetics. Nevertheless, if you are a diabetic, you should consult your physician before deciding to follow through with permanent make-up.

If you are taking any type of anticoagulant, please consult your physician before making the decision of getting permanent make-up.

There is usually no bleeding during the procedure, and in case there is, it is very mild. This is why you should consult with your physician in case it is necessary to suspend the intake of your medication to aid the scarring process.
